Fayette County has two local public school districts: Miami
Trace Local School District and the Washington
City School District which both offer open enrollment.
In August of 2008 Miami Trace opened a new Centralized Elementary School which brought better coordination and logistics in educating over 1,200 students in a new state of the art facility located adjacent to their High School along State Route 41. Miami Trace is also in design stages to also construct a new Middle School which should open in 2010 or 2011 also at the same site creating a campus for all three schools at one location.
In 2009, Washington City Schools will also be opening all newly constructed schools. Cherry Hill will be a Kindergarten through 2nd Grade School, Belle Aire will be a 3rd Grade though 5th Grade School, Washington Middle School will be a 6th through 8th Grade Facility and Washington High School will be a 9th through 12th Facility.

Many opportunities to enrich your free time
exist in Fayette County. The County Seat, Washington
Court
House, is home to an historic downtown that is filled
with unique shops and restaurants that attract
visitors from the region year round. Fayette County
is also home to two regional Outlet Malls. Prime
Outlets are located at the intersection of U.S.
Rt. 35 and Interstate 71 having dozens of name-brand stores attract thousands
of shoppers visit Fayette County from all directions. Just
one exit north on Interstate 71 at State Route 41 is the Homeworks
Mall with stores that focuses on the home products, antiques and household goods. Fayette County is also
fortunate to be surrounded by 35 public and private
golf courses and 8 State Parks. There is something
for everyone’s taste in Fayette County!
