Learning
Fayette County has two local public school districts: Miami Trace Local School District and the Washington City School District which both offer open enrollment.  Fayette County Christian School, a private parochial school, offers a Pre-School through 12th Grade Christian based educational program.

In August of 2008 Miami Trace opened a new Centralized Elementary School which brought better coordination and logistics in educating over 1,200 students in a new state of the art facility located adjacent to their High School along State Route 41.  Miami Trace is in process of constructing a new Middle School which will be operational January of 2011 at the same site, creating a campus for all three schools at one location.

In 2009, Washington City Schools opened all new schools. Cherry Hill Elementary School houses Kindergarten through 2nd Grade students, Belle Aire Elementary School houses 3rd Grade though 5th Grade students, Washington Middle School houses 6th through 8th Grade students and Washington High School houses 9th through 12th grade student.

Also, our local branch of Southern State Community College completed an expansion project in 2009, nearly doubling their facility size and is offering innovative new two-year degree and non-degree programs to the region as well as a new partnership with Ohio University that allows students to achieve selected Bachelor Degree programs at our convenient, centralized Fayette Campus site.
